Please allow me to introduce you to Cocoa and the Raging Storm.

This project began two years ago as a dream the Lord laid on my heart one night while I was reading a children’s book about a Bible story. I felt let down by how much context was missing. In that moment, I felt the Lord say, “This is not the generation to sugarcoat My Word.”

So, I began writing and illustrating this story inspired by my own Little Happiness and talks with my grandmothers about God. From cover to cover I poured my heart into the making of this book. Every page took hard work and a lot of prayer.

Cocoa and the Raging Storm is a story about fear and how we overcome it with the Word of God. It begins with a little boy named Happiness who visits his granny. While he’s there, a huge storm rolls in, leading Happiness to admit his biggest fear. His granny uses God’s Word to comfort and encourage him, and she tells him about another storm, one that lasted forty days and forty nights. This is the first book in the Little Sips, Big Faith series.

My prayer is that this story brings you comfort and joy. That it becomes a learning tool for you and your family as you navigate the Word of God and the tough topics that rise up.
