Lord Jesus,

Thank you for giving your life for me and forgiving me of my sins, so I may have a personal relationship with you. I am sincerely sorry for the life I have lived apart from you. Your word says in Romans 10:9, that if I acknowledge and confess with my mouth that you, Jesus, are Lord and believe with my heart that you died and was raised from the grave, I will be saved. Jesus, I know God raised you from the grave and you are alive in heaven preparing a place for me and you are coming back soon! I believe you are the son of God, and I confess that you are my Lord and Savior from this day forward. I invite you into my heart, change me and make me new.

In Jesus Christ’s mighty name, I pray, amen.

It's the end of July. The last day of July, to be exact.

Mid-day is above, the sun's rays hit the surface of the pool. Like crystal, the water of the pool is clear. The heat causes her to sweat vigorously as she walks. The sweat beads up and, like water, rolls down her back.

She watches him as they approach the pool. He runs at full speed, barely missing her legs as he races by. Her eyes show small signs of the smile that begins to spread across her face. Upon hearing her laugh, he slows running back to meet her. He jumps and, in mid-air, he wiggles. Landing back on the ground, his paws make a soft thud on impact.

The grass is slightly warm beneath her bare feet. A mosquito lands on her arm, she slaps it against her skin. Moving away her hand she sees the blood.

Knowing not how long it had been there she wipes her hand on the towel that is cradled in the crook of her arm. Stepping onto the sidewalk the sting of the pavement scorches the soles of her foot like needles.

With each step the burn worsens. Dropping her towel and beach bag, she steps into the shallow part of the pool. She gasps as she eases her body beneath the water. Washing away the heat and sweat, she dives beneath the surface. Pushing off the bottom she launches her body out into the middle of the pool. The crown of her head again feels the rays of the July sun as she surfaces. She glances around in search for him. Not seeing him, she calls out. Oliver barks, appearing from the corner of the pool house. He runs to the side of the pool and whines, his tail wagging as he barks.

Laughing, she tells him no. Suddenly he jumps in. Going under immediately he again resurfaces, and instead of swimming back to the stairs to get out, he swims directly to her. Taking him in her arms, she walks to the side to put him out of the pool but, as she frees him from her arms, he jumps back in.

The day has gone and in its place night has come. The sky is clear enough to see the stars. Her aunt has finally made it back from the mountains and they plan to go to McDonald's. Walking out of the house something makes her think to put him in his dog carrier. She ignores the voice and goes to the car. Across the street, two large dogs bark behind a fence. Her aunt tells her to wait before putting Oliver in the vehicle because she needs to make room. He wouldn't bother anything she thinks to herself. As she glances up she sees headlights, and Oliver across the street barking at the two larger dogs.

She calls out to him making her way to the end of the driveway. Maybe if I wait the car will go by and he'll be fine she thinks. But it's too late he's turned and spotted her. He runs, and the car is to close. It hits him, and she screams. The front right tire has hit him throwing his small frame underneath the car. She sees this all in slow motion. Time, for her has come to a halt. Watching his small body hit the bottom of the vehicle. She can only watch in abject horror as the car throws him fiercely to the ground, and hits him again with the back tire, wrenching a fresh wave of screams from her lips.

Running quickly to his side, she picks his body up, his tail still wagging, and watches as his body convulses with each step she makes back to the driveway. She can't walk anymore she lies with his body on the driveway still screaming her chest aches with loss.

Tears stream down her cheeks. Neighbors have come from their houses and they circle above her like vouchers. The car never stopped. All around her they talk, their voices all in sync and she loses it as one says

"It sounded like a gunshot." She yells at them. Oliver's dead body is still in her arms. The same one who spoke has their hands on her and she pulls away. She doesn't want to be touched. The love of her life has just left her.

His big brown eyes are still open. She takes him away from the crowd and makes it to the porch before falling again. This is where she'll lie with him in her arms. As snot runs down her face and onto her grandmother's shirt, salty tears follow. Never stopping, she sobs trying to put the body away but can't, he eventually stiffens.

Blood covers her legs and shirt. She can't hold back anything her whole body shakes. Deep ragged breath leaves her. The after math of the hard cry exhausts her body and she lays his body in his dog crate. Sleep is taking over. She leaves him there wrapped in two shirts locked away in a pink dog crate, finally laying his body to rest. She doesn't realize how long she'd sat there but knows that hours have passed. She looks down at the shirt her grandmother gave her and the tears still fall.

The sun's come up. It shines through the thin curtain.

Bright rays of sunlight attempt to penetrate the room.

She looks for him but doesn't see him. She wonders if her aunt has let him out and hopes he hasn't pooped on the carpet somewhere. As she gets, up it hits her.

Everything from the following night comes rushing back as though she is watching it all again. Her body begins to shake again. He's gone, she thinks, his bright eyes and the happiness that they shared forever snatched away from her in an instant.

The memory ends as she's brought back to the present.

She's still in the classroom. She looks around at the students who are oblivious to what's going on in her mind. The professor answers a question from the student by the door. Her heart still aches after a full year and two months. She misses him. The feel of his soft fur, his brown eyes, and the way he'd run up a door when locked outside. Everything that was no longer is.

The year has passed and nothing remains the same.

She pushes the memory away as tears swell in her eyes.

The End

Blog post.

Hey Friend and welcome back to my little corner of the internet.

This week has been rough to say the least. I had to go to the ER. It was an awful experience and eventually was able to speak with the doctor. But he wasn't sure what the cause of the current things I'm dealing with were.

Isn't that how it always goes? We try to figure it out or pray that some doctor can tell us everything that's wrong. So often it's easy to forget that the great creator designed us and knows exactly what's wrong even when we don't.

In the midst of all of this I've had an irrational fear that's lingered. But God always sends confirmation. This week I was listening to a well known preacher on Facebook. And one thing he said was, "A fear of God's absence is a sign of His presence."

So, even though I felt alone in the hospital room, due to them not allowing my husband back there to be with me because of us having Little with us, I really wasn't alone. God is so close. In so many ways He never lets us too far out of His sights. We can't hide from Him or out run Him. (Proverbs 139)

This month I'm studying the book of John. I'm learning more and more about the good fruit Jesus talks about. I've heard it before but sometimes we need a refresher on what God's word tells us. Sometimes things involve a deeper dive to better grasp what is expected of us and our walk with Him.

Walking by faith and giving it all to God can take you to places you could never dream of on your own. I believed my life would've been totally different than how it is now. I was so sure I would be flying the globe and my family would reap the benefits. But God had other plans. Now, I am a SAHM who gets to watch her Little grow every day. I would've missed so much of this time with Little had I still been flying. I'm so grateful God had other plans. So, stay deep in the word and His plan for your life. Bear good fruit and stay rooted in faith. Stay rooted in Him.

Stay Blessed!

-FASP

Blog post.

Hey Friends and welcome back to my little corner of the internet,

Today, I woke up early. It's rare, but it happens. I woke up before my little was even stirring; I got out of bed, snuck into my kitchen, grabbed a cup for my coffee, tossed in a K-cup and hit brew.

While I waited on it to finish brewing, I opened up my blinds to let in the morning light. I hate having a dark house. Natural light and electricity keep me sane most days.

When the gurgling sound of the end of the brew interrupted my inner monologue, I added my creamer and headed for the couch. I opened my bible and started chapter 5-6 of the book of John.

Here's what I found: While there's a lot I could say about this chapter, but I want to talk to you about what was revealed to me in verse 65. "And He was saying, 'This is the reason why I have told you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted him [that is unless he is able to do so] by the Father.'" Now, if you have ever thought, "God didn't call me, so I can't follow Him," I'm going to prove to you why that's a lie. If you go down to verse 70 it says, (Jesus speaking), "Did I not call you, the twelve? And yet one of you is a devil." Jesus literally called everyone. He does NOT pick and choose like one is more worthy than another. He chose each disciple even knowing the outcome (Psalms 139:16 confirms this). The difference is whether or not you accept His call. God knew what Judas Iscariot was going to do. It fulfilled prophecy, yes, but Judas didn't choose Jesus in the end, he chose his own self-interest.

There's a lot more to be said about the book of John. So much of Jesus' life and his teachings fill those pages. But there's something even as a seasoned believer I used to struggle with. See like a lot of people I've fought with the "why me" questions. "Why me?" "Did He really call me?" Self-pity will have you asking, "What's so great about me?" "Would He really call me?" Or the doubt that you don't have any gifts... "There's not much I'm good at."

So much doubt and unbelief fill those questions. If you go deeper, you'll find what God really says about you. One verse I love is in Psalm 139:14 "For I am fearfully and wonderfully made." That by itself shows you are not a mistake. You are worthy and made just the way God intended. He knitted you carefully together in your mother's womb (Psalm 139:13). You are not a mistake, so whatever God has in store for you believe it. Accept His call and know you are not alone. Don't compare your walk with someone else's. Trust me, envy is not a bandwagon you want to hitch yourself to. It can destroy the plan God has for YOUR life.

Each disciple had issues, I can do a whole post on Peter alone, because if I had to pick a disciple I most related to it would be him or his brother Andrew. Peter dealt with anger and even denied Jesus 3 times. Andrew dealt with a lot of anxiety. Both extraordinary men dealt with real human problems, but in the end, they both chose Jesus. You can too.

We each are given the gift of eternal life. But it's up to us to decide whether or not we want to answer His call. Have you accepted that call today? If not start here, Give your life to Christ- A Prayer | F.A.S.P

Stay Blessed,

-FASP

Blog post.

Hey friend and welcome back to my little corner of the internet.

This morning I watched the sun crest over the tops of the tall trees that encase our home. As the light spilled across the yard, I was reminded again of how precious each morning truly is. Scripture tells us, “His mercies are new every morning.” — Lamentations 3:23.

There’s something comforting about that promise, especially at the start of a week like this one.

After making my coffee and settling into the living room, I opened my Bible. The house was quiet, no one stirring but me, and yet my mind was already full of distractions from the coming days. So many things need my attention. So many tasks waiting their turn. And still, somehow, I feel an oddly heavy need for a nap already.

I started a new study this morning, the book of Nahum. The first chapter speaks so much of what God is capable of, how he will exact his vengeance, but it also reminds us that God is slow to anger and great in power (Nahum 1:3). No matter what happens this week remember that God takes care of all of your needs. His might and wonder will go before you and handle the things that need handling. You don't need to worry about the things of this world even though that's easier said than done. God will take care of you and those that hurt you. He will watch over you and keep you under his hedge of protect. You just need to trust that He is always working for your good.

Life here on the homestead is still under full swing. The fence for the goats arriving next week is finally finished. It was a long weekend affair... countless hours, sore muscles, and a lot of determination. But like everything on the homestead, things take time. They grow slowly, steadily, and eventually into something sustainable. The goats will be here soon enough, and our little life here will keep unfolding into what it’s meant to be.

And speaking of things unfolding… tomorrow is release day for Beyond the Village, my debut novel.

This story has been crafted and shaped by all the things fantasy lovers adore and all the things faith requires; hope, courage, spiritual depth, and a world that mirrors both the beauty and the brokenness we recognize.

If you loved the corruption of the Fae in ACOTAR, and the creatures, symbolism, and biblical undertones of The Chronicles of Narnia, then Beyond the Village is absolutely for you.

All the information is available here on the website, and if you’d like a signed copy, just let me know.

I pray your week is full of hope and joy. That you savor each renewed morning. And that you remember where your help comes from, always. And may the same light that crested the trees this morning guide you gently through the week.

Stay Blessed!

-FASP

Hey friends and welcome back to my little corner of the internet.

I'd like to tell you a little about my author journey. I've hinted at a few things and immersed you with details with the end of the process.

What I haven't told you is the mental toll it takes on you. It seems easy to someone who's never had to deal with growing a social media account, but I can tell you it can be daunting and exhausting.

Support didn't always come from the people I thought it would. Support came from strangers on the internet, people from my church, a few friends and family. But the bookish community really pulled through most days. TikTok shadow banned me right as my debut cover was revealed. I shifted my focus to Instagram but even that was a slow go. The more I interacted the more it spammed all of my great effort.

So, I turned my efforts to something I thought I could control. I created a Mailerlite account, linked it here to my website and somehow managed a landing page with a newsletter welcome email.

And let me be the first to say, trying to do programing and coding is not something I ever want the privilege of undertaking as a career. I am unfit for that role. But with the help of the trusty google engine and some stretched patience, I managed.

Things with the formatting did not always go well, I had to ask for help with more things than I ever thought I would. Being an indie author brings that out in you. You can figure it out, but having support and a community helps.

I could not have done any of the editing alone. Thankfully God sent me an amazing lady.

I did however create my cover and all of the images inside. Just like with Cocoa and the Raging Storm. Learning to use multiple programs has been an achievement I am quite proud of.

Even though the road was long and full of trails and error, I made it. Now, I have a legacy that I am building that my children and my children's children can be proud of. And that is the greatest gift.

Stay Blessed

-FASP

Hey friends and welcome back to my little corner of the internet,

This week I've been studying the book of Esther. If you don't know the story, Esther was just a girl, born a Jew, who was placed in the king's palace in order to be queen. To save her people from (Haman) horrible man who sought to take the lives of all the Jews. When she became queen, she was chosen to go before the king unsummoned. Something that could have led to her death had the king not lowered his scepter for her.

Esther was called by God for such a time. She stepped out in faith and courage and was able to save the lives of her people. When she made the conscious decision to fully trust God her words will still ring loudly through the centuries. "If I perish, I perish." That’s not reckless courage. That’s surrendered courage.

Sometimes the call on your life doesn’t look like a calling at first. Or anything you've envisioned for yourself.

Sometimes to us it looks like disruption.

Sometimes to us it looks like loss.

Sometimes to us it looks like being placed somewhere you never wanted to be.

But GOD!

The book of Esther shows us that God often positions us long before He reveals the purpose. what an extraordinary honor Esther had to be called by God to be queen, to be chosen to save her people, to be a voice for the masses. To be remembered through the ages. Her earthly gifts were fascinating. Her heavenly gifts... I cannot imagine the celebration that unfolded when she was called up.

Mordecai’s words to Esther still ring true for every believer today:

“Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

It’s the reminder that your placement in this world is not accidental. You are NOT an accident. Your influence is not random. Your season in this life is not meaningless. You are chosen. It may not be a calling like Esther's, chosen to be queen or king over the population, but what God has for you is not random.

You are where you are, right now, because God has woven purpose into your present moment. Even if you feel hidden, unseen by those you love most. Even if you feel small, and invisible to the world. Even if you feel unprepared.

Esther teaches us that God uses the willing. God uses the available. God uses the faithful. God will use you, if you let Him.

Remember this... God sees you. God positions you. God equips you. God can use you in untold ways. So, no matter what your plans look like, don't be afraid to let God lead.

Esther’s story whispers to every woman and every man who feels overwhelmed, overlooked, or underqualified:

You are not accidental. You are not powerless. You are not forgotten. You are placed purposefully, intentionally, divinely... “for such a time as this.”

Stay Blessed,

FASP

Hey Friend and welcome back to my little corner of the internet,

My husband had surgery today.

My truck broke down.

The homestead still needs tending to.

If I told you all of that and never gave you anymore context, I’d imagine you’d think, wow that’s a very rough day. Maybe even a negative day.

And for some you would be right.

We live in a world where we wonder why we never see God doing the huge miracles like He used to. With your natural eyes you might see a God who stopped doing miracles all together.

But can I tell you… He’s still a miracle working God. Small victories are miracles. Miraculous is nice and all, but I’m a simple girl when it comes to my walk with God. Sure, I have big dreams but whatever He wants to give me fits me just fine.

You see my manna this morning was eating a Mamies (small breakfast place in my hometown) chicken biscuit at my grandmothers table while my toddler ran around like it was home.

My pillar of fire in the dark of night was my husband going in for knee surgery and the doctor doing a few stitches and cleaning up some cartilage. Making his recovery only 4 weeks and then he can start walking again.

My favor as I entered into the King’s court was my truck driving the hour back home from the hospital and shutting down as I put it in park; parked safely in my garage.

My parting of the red sea was the rain waiting until I’d finished setting hubby up on the couch and fixing his ice machine, bathing my sleepy toddler, both are now sleeping soundly. Tending to all of my animals which include, 2 obnoxious huskies, a silly kitten, 3 bunnies, 9 miniature chickens, and 15 bantam/mix breed chickens. Blessing my sweet little mail lady with some eggs and closing up the barn as the drizzles began.

It didn’t rain for long. I made it inside and cleaned up myself, because hey, hospitals… but now the sun is out. We’re safe at home, the truck will keep, 4 weeks will fly by, and dinners in the crockpot.

You may not see the red sea parted or manna fall from the sky. You may not have to walk into the King’s court and risk your life to save your people. You may not ever face a giant named Goliath and save an army.

But you can see miracles every day.

You only need to look.

Stay blessed. For such a time as this.

-FASP

Hey Friends, and Welcome back to my little corner of the internet,

I hope your Easter weekend was filled with joy and laughter and reflection on what the resurrection Sunday means. We know how good Friday is. We know the pain and sorrow that Saturday brought. But Sunday.. Sunday Christ rose from the dead while paying the ultimate price for our sins.

Today is Monday, the day after Mary found out Jesus was alive. He ascended into heaven to the Father and came again to show the disciples He was alive and well. Can you imagine the joy and certainty that came with that? They watched him go through the worst torment imaginable only to be raised from the dead whole and well.

My prayer for you this week and beyond is to live a faith-filled life. If you haven't accepted the Lord as your Savior, I have a special prayer in my other writings to help you in that journey with Him.

Stay Blessed!

-FASP

Hey Friends and Welcome back to my little corner of the internet,

Today was a special day, but I didn't feel very special, the day caused me a lot of struggles. Between the late wake up, the hour drive to church, rushing to find family in the crowded pews, a hectic Easter egg hunt, rushing to get a tantrum throwing toddler into a car seat and then rushing again to lunch.

Today was chaos, it wasn't a ride down a dirt road as people laid down palm leaves, excited about my arrival. Today, was the other side... more like the frantic guards wondering who the guy riding in on a donkey was.

Can you imagine the two scenes? The beautiful display of our massiah riding in on a colt, the sounds of the cries from the crowd in worship, and then in the back the guards rushing to get the crowd under control. Shouts ringing out from angry guards who don't understand what their eyes are seeing.

Isn't that how things go in the chaos of everyday life? One side we can find every beautiful piece of everyday life, while on the other hand if you dwell on the chaos, you become angry and stressed. Nothing can compare to that beautiful ride Jesus took on the colt through Jerusalem, but you can find the beauty in the chaos.

We're in such a hurry trying to get somewhere that when we do, we can't enjoy it, because we're still trying to calm down from the rush to get there. We woke up late. My fault. I hit the snooze button for that 5 minutes you think is going to fix the restless night you just had. After I felt like I never had a moment to breathe... to slow down and enjoy the day.

So, tonight I'm taking the time to tell myself tomorrow we'll try it again. Today did not go the way I wanted, the way I needed, but that's okay... because tomorrow is another day. God got me through the day, and everything works for our good. Easter is on its way; that's another day to wake up early take our time to get ready and head off to His house for the celebration of his resurrection.

Friend, just because the day was hectic and nothing went your way, you're not alone. He sees you and He understands. No, everything did not turn out exactly like I wanted, but God used everything that happened today as a teachable moment.

For an example, time management, I didn't use it at all. I should've woken up when the alarm went off. The rushing to get up and go was a struggle. Racing to get through an Easter egg hunt and off to lunch was hectic. Traffic was a mess and the whole day just seemed to tick away. Now, the house is quiet, and I can reflect on the mess of it all.

Tomorrow, I'll try again. I'll do better tomorrow, because that is all we can do. Try again.

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” – 2 Corinthians 4:16

Your strength is renewed fresh every morning. God sees you through the night and into the next day. Be patient with yourself, Friend. God will never forsake you. Even when He's quiet, He will be there all the day through.

Stay Blessed,

-FASP

Hey Friend and Welcome back to my little corner of the internet,

Welp, the day has come to an end, and I’ll be honest, I feel a little let down by how launch day went.

As self‑publishing authors, we hope and pray that our books grab our readers’ attention and that the whole world feels our excitement. But hindsight is 20/20. Even though my insides are raging to shout this news from the rooftops, not everyone will see it or get as excited as I am.

Still, today held blessings worth noticing. Two people told me they bought the pre‑order. Not everyone can say that on their cover‑reveal day. I’ve already made eight physical book sales from my first editions, plus two pre‑orders, and I have more names written down. So even though I don’t have thousands of people cheering me on, I do have some very special people lifting me up. And not many can say they’ve made sales like this before the book is even officially out. It won’t be available online until March 24, 2026.

I think we sometimes forget how blessed we are. We overlook the fact that the small moments are often the most remarkable ones. Robert Brault once said, “Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” My first sale was one of those big things. That person bought four books in total. I was floored, humbled, excited and so many other things all at once.

So even if things don’t “blow up,” Cocoa and the Raging Storm is already touching hearts in the small moments God is offering me. I won’t stay discouraged by the slow growth He’s trusting me with. If He can’t trust me with the small things, how could He trust me with the big ones?

Growing slowly in a fast‑paced world can feel daunting, but it’s also deeply rewarding. When the big days finally arrive, we appreciate them so much more because we learned to value the quiet beginnings.

If you’re hoping your timeline works out a certain way and it doesn’t, please know it will probably work out better than you could’ve imagined. God’s Word tells us, “I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). And He also reminds us, “My ways are not your ways, and my thoughts are not your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8).
So, friend, find joy in the little things. Find patience in the waiting. Find love and encouragement in the people who cheer you on and push you forward.

Until then, stay blessed.

-FASP

Update post.

Please allow me to introduce you to Cocoa and the Raging Storm.

This project began two years ago as a dream the Lord laid on my heart one night while I was reading a children’s book about a Bible story. I felt let down by how much context was missing. In that moment, I felt the Lord say, “This is not the generation to sugarcoat My Word.”

So, I began writing and illustrating this story inspired by my own Little Happiness and talks with my grandmothers about God. From cover to cover I poured my heart into the making of this book. Every page took hard work and a lot of prayer.

Cocoa and the Raging Storm is a story about fear and how we overcome it with the Word of God. It begins with a little boy named Happiness who visits his granny. While he’s there, a huge storm rolls in, leading Happiness to admit his biggest fear. His granny uses God’s Word to comfort and encourage him, and she tells him about another storm, one that lasted forty days and forty nights. This is the first book in the Little Sips, Big Faith series.

My prayer is that this story brings you comfort and joy. That it becomes a learning tool for you and your family as you navigate the Word of God and the tough topics that rise up.

Thank you for being a part of this journey with me, for cheering me on and sending prayers through this entire process.

I'm blessed beyond measure.

-FASP

Hey Friend and Welcome back to my little corner of the internet,

The weekend flew by and today it's Tuesday. Three more days and I do the book cover reveal for my children's book. I can't believe it's finally here. After two long years and constant changes in life and my work for the book it's finally here.

As I sit and think about how far I've come one of my favorite scriptures come to mind. "For the vision is yet for the appointed [future] time. It hurries toward the goal [of fulfillment]; it will not fail. Even though it delays, wait [patiently] for it, because it will certainly come; it will not delay." Habakuk 2:3

So often we face things that take time to grow, take time to prosper, form, develop and so often worry, doubt and fear invade the season we're in. Is it because we try to force things to work in our time? Probably. Is it because we get caught up in our own timeline? Definitely.

I don't know about you, but a little encouragement I'll leave with you today is this, wait on the Lord, his plan is better. I could've never imagined the things God had in store for me, but here I am, living a dream only he could fulfill.

Friend, your appointed time is coming. Wait for it. It might delay on your timeline, but never His.

Stay Blessed,

-FASP

Hey Friend and Welcome back to my little corner of the internet,

I'm excited to share some updates about the book today but I am also excited to share the Word of God with you.

This morning, I woke up, got little up and moving, headed for my usual cup of coffee. I made Little breakfast and turned on preschool learning on YouTube. Then I settled down at my dining room table with my bible, notebook, and lukewarm coffee.

This morning, I was still reading from 1 Samuel, Chapter 29-31.

You see David was supposed to fight with the King of Gath and the Philistines against King Saul, but the Philistine Governors went to Achish (the King of Gath) who David had lived with since fleeing Saul. And told him they did not want to fight with David because they feared he would turn against them during the fight. Achish tried to reason with them that he trusted David, but they refused. So, Achish sent David home to Ziklag. Upon returning to Ziklag David found his home burned and the women and children missing. Could you imagine being sent home from war and finding your town burned and plundered?

The people spoke of stoning David for each and every one of them were embittered, BUT GOD. David even in the midst of them blaming him and not rusting that God would move on David's behalf felt strengthened and encouraged in the Lord.

If you remember when David was to fight against Goliath even his brothers told him to go home. David had no support from his people when he faced his Giant, but what the people couldn't see with their natural eyes, David could see with his spiritual eyes. He knew God would strengthen him. He knew God was bigger than the Giant he was facing. So often we could listen to the discouragement from others but remind yourself, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

We're allowed to have confidence in ourselves with the knowledge that God is the one strengthening us, because if we don't, we are putting limitations on God. Steer clear of fleshly pride and always give glory to God. God can only do through us what we choose to believe. So, if you're believing you're nothing and no good, or you can't do something, you are believing God cannot work through you. That is a hindrance on your faith and your trust in the Father. Pride goes before a fall, Proverbs 16:18. Pride is something we feel when we take all the credit as though it's through our own strength, we are capable of anything. That is what hardens us against the goodness of God. But when we believe fully, even if it's just a mustard seed of faith, we can accomplish so much more with God by our side. He is able to do exceedingly above anything we can ask or think. Ephesians 3:20

So, if you're needing encouragement I will leave you with this. When all else seems lost and you don't know what to do, be strong in faith that the Lord will lead, guide and protect you. He will never leave you, nor forsake you, Deuteronomy 31:6. You are the head and not the tail Deuteronomy 28: 13. You are loved and cherished.

Stay Blessed Friend,

FASP

Blog post.

Hey Friends and Welcome back to my little corner of the internet.

If you've been following this blog for any length of time you know how dedicated I am to my faith and how I portray that in my writing. I am also a mother, wife and homesteader. So apart from being surrounded by diapers, apple sauce and goldfish, I also am surrounded by 4 loudmouth roosters, 16 clucking hens, 2 huskies and 2 rabbits. As crowded as you would like to imagine I never expected to be taught biblical lessons.

Life on the homestead has a way of turning ordinary everyday life into life's teachable moments, maybe even parables. Jesus did it with a small mustard seed, I reckon I'll do it with some loudmouth birds, rambunctious huskies, fuzzy bunnies and a curious toddler.

Here are just a few of those parables whispered in my ear about Life's Lessons...

1.) God's compassion never fails and is renewed every morning. Lamentations 3:22-23

Every morning, I wake up, climb out of bed and head for the coffee pot. I get Little up and ready for the day, we have breakfast, story time, snacks, play time and then it's time for his nap. But that just means some days Little helps with the yard chores or I do those alone. The chickens I handle alone. I've had some bad roosters in the past and Little is too small to take on a full-size rooster. So, in I go with my walking stick and my bucket for collecting eggs. Henry is my road island red; he's the biggest boy I've got. He sometimes forgets that I'm the one who feeds him and his life is literally in my hands. But it's also his space and his ladies. He's a good boy most days. Like the Father, I have to have compassion because ole Henry is just doing his job. Compassion...

2.) God provides our needs daily. Matthew 6:26

Every afternoon when I've laid Little down for naptime my chickens hear me in the tool shed and start their yammering. They hear the lady with the bucket and know dinner is on the way. They don't worry about whether or not they'll eat that day. They definitely don't worry about whether or not their feathers match their beaks and toenails. They don't worry about if the sun will shine or the sky will fall. They just know the lady with the bucket will be here soon.

3.) God renews our spirit. 2 Corinthians 4:16

Each day my hens lay an egg. Sometimes early in the morning sometimes in the late evening, but every day like clockwork my girls climb into the nest house, scratch around and lay another egg. It takes them 24 hours to cook a new one. Their energy could be depleted, and they may tire and need some rest but every day they do it again.

The Lord always sees our faithfulness, whether that's the mounds of laundry, dirty dishes, or the prayers we whisper over our Little's as we tuck them safely in for the night. Just small obedience's the world never sees but our God does.

4.) He always completes His good works. Philippians 1:6

I've raised quite a few in an incubator and I can tell you the waiting for the eggs to crack and hatch takes days of patience and preparation. Not only as the homesteader but for the baby chicken as well. They have to make it out of that hard eggshell, and then grow big and strong so they can alert the morning or lay an egg.

But what God starts He always finishes.

Final Thought:

Needless to say, life on the homestead can teach you things you never expected. I never expected to see God in the small animals running past my feet to get to the scrapes I throw out. but every day I do. God speaks through His scriptures, but He speaks through the everyday things too. Whether that be the garden, toddlers running, homestead chores or quiet moments alone. He's always there.

Thanks, friend, for sitting with me today. I hope your week is full of small lessons, gentle reminders and the kind of piece that comes from knowing you are cared for, even more tenderly than life here on the homestead.

Stay Blessed,

-FASP

Scriptures in the blog: I encourage you to highlight these in your bible and meditate on God's word daily.

Lamentations 3:22-23

Matthew 6:26

2 Corinthians 4:16

Philippians 1:6

Hey Friend and Welcome back to my little corner of the internet,

Not today.

Today I didn't get the answer I was hoping for. Today, the dream was not made flesh.

As I watched and waited for those 2 little lines to appear my heart sank as just one line gleamed up at me. I wanted my mind to unsee it. I wanted my body to tell me it was ready, but not today.

The enemy so often wants us defeated. But I won't be defeated today.

So, I walked from the bathroom following my first baby, I prayed so diligently for, I turned on today's church service and praised and worshipped a God I know that still does miracles.

My dream for more children may be delayed on my timeline, but not on His, and His timeline is so much better than mine. My life now is living proof of that.

after the service was over Little and I went to play outside. Watching Little run and play reminds me that childlike faith is immoveable. We inherit the Kingdom of God with childlike faith (Matthew 18:3, Mark 10:15, Luke 18:17). Today, that is what I chose to have faith that I know works.

I will trust in my Jesus. Psalm 37:5

I will trust Him with all of my heart. Proverbs 3:56

I will not worry about this life He's blessed me with. Matthew 6:25

I know He meets all of my needs. Philippians 4:19

I know He has real plans for me. Jeremiah 29:11

Above all I know He never keeps His blessings from us. My Little is proof. Psalm 127:3

Friend, if you're in the waiting, please know God is with you. He never tells us not to feel the emotions. He tells us not to be ruled by them. "Be angry and sin not, do not let the sun go down on your anger." Ephesians 4:26

Process the emotion, talk it out with Him, because He truly cares for you. Allow Him to comfort you like He promised and let Him stay in control.

God is never late and never early, He is always on time.

Stay Blessed Friend,

-FASP
