Your Purpose-Day Four

In a world filled with distractions and uncertainty, one of the greatest questions we wrestle with is: What is my purpose? As believers, our purpose is not rooted in worldly success but in following Christ, growing in faith, and bearing fruit that glorifies God.

Discipleship: A Call to Follow and Grow

Discipleship is more than just believing in Jesus—it’s about actively following Him, learning from His teachings, and becoming more like Him. Jesus Himself called His followers to deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him (Matthew 16:24). This means surrendering our own desires and embracing the life He has called us to. As a follower of Christ, you are called to grow in faith, learn from the Bible, and participate in a community of believers.

True discipleship involves:

  • Commitment – Choosing to walk with Christ daily, even when it’s difficult.
  • Obedience – Living according to His Word and applying His teachings.
  • Multiplication – Sharing the Gospel and helping others grow in faith.

Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19-20), showing that our purpose is not just personal growth but helping others encounter Him.

Bearing Fruit: Evidence of a Life Rooted in Christ

A life of discipleship naturally leads to bearing fruit—the visible evidence of our faith. Jesus said, "I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit" (John 15:5). Just as a tree bears fruit, your life should reflect the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This means that when we stay connected to Him, our lives will reflect His love, grace, and truth.

The fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) is a powerful indicator of a life transformed by Christ:

  • Love – Showing compassion and kindness to others.
  • Joy – Finding peace and fulfillment in God’s presence.
  • Patience – Trusting in His timing and plan.
  • Faithfulness – Remaining steadfast in our walk with Him.

Bearing fruit also means serving others, using our gifts, and living in obedience. It’s not about perfection—it’s about growth, transformation, and reflecting Christ in all we do.

Living Out Our Purpose

When we embrace discipleship and bear fruit, we step into the fullness of our God-given purpose. We are called to be a light in the world, share His love, and live in a way that draws others to Him.

Even if you ever feel uncertain about your purpose, pray diligently for clarity, trusting that God will reveal His plan for you. He has chosen you, equipped you, and called you to live a life that glorifies Him.

Let’s walk boldly in faith, knowing that our purpose is not just to exist—but to thrive, grow, and make an eternal impact
