Welcome back to my little corner of the world,
Some days, creativity flows effortlessly. Ideas spark, words come together, and the process feels almost magical.
And then there are days like today—where inspiration is nowhere to be found, the blank page seems endless, and every sentence feels heavier than the last.
We talk so much about creativity as if it’s always meant to be effortless, but the truth is, sometimes it’s work. Sometimes it’s frustration. Sometimes it’s sitting with the discomfort of feeling stuck and deciding to show up anyway.
These past few weeks have been rough—Little and I have been battling an awful sickness that knocked us completely off course. Between fevers and the strange experience of losing taste and smell, even simple tasks felt overwhelming. But if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that creativity, much like recovery, has its own timeline. And both require patience.
Even as creativity ebbs and flows, progress is happening! The book is moving through production, the website has some fresh updates, and despite the setbacks, things are moving forward.
If today feels like an off day—if your creative juices have dried up and motivation has left the building—you’re not alone. I’m right there with you. And instead of fighting it, I’m learning to sit with it, to breathe through it, to remind myself that inspiration always finds its way back.
If you’re feeling creatively stuck today too, here’s your reminder: it’s okay. It doesn’t mean you’ve lost your spark. It doesn’t mean your ideas have abandoned you. It just means you’re human. And sometimes, being human is messy, uninspired, and exhausting.
But creativity is patient. It waits. And when the time is right, it always returns.
Until then, we keep going. We rest. We create—even when it’s hard. And we remember that tomorrow holds another chance to begin again.
Scripture for Encouragement:
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." — Isaiah 40:31
As always friend,
