Midnight Epiphany- Do it for God.

Hey friend,

Welcome back. I hope your day is going well and if not let's take a moment together.

Father God, we come to you now asking for wisdom and understanding. For heavenly discernment and patience in the things required by you, our teacher. Go before us in all things and behind us with heavy protection. Lord whatever may be troubling the reader reading this today, Father, give them favor, give them healing, give them peace and comfort. Lord, we know your love for us never falls short. And your word never returns void. Lord, we promise to give you all the glory and praise, because only you Jesus deserve it!

We love you and thank you, in Jesus name, Amen!

Last week I was doing one of my bible studies, and the Holy Spirit revealed something to me I forgot to write it down, and tonight it was brought to me again; I feel you need to hear it.

I've been studying Isaiah and Romans. Honestly, the beginning of Isaiah feels so heavy it is nice for the change brought in Romans. So, much of His love shines in Romans. (Yes, I know His whole word does. Sometimes certain chapters and verses just speak to you a little more depending on the season of life you're in.)

But as I am doing my study I couldn't help but find myself complaining about every earthly thing going on with us. Let's face it. We are not a perfect people, and we all fall short of the glory of God, or at least I know I do. And as I am dreading having to do another mundane task and not having the energy or drive to do it the Holy Spirit whisper's, "Do it for God."

And I know what you may be thinking, "Don't we do everything for God anyway?"

But I think we sometimes lose sight on what we are actually thinking we are doing for God. We hear so often 'LIVE FOR GOD.' But what does that exactly mean? Is it just sharing the good news and going to church?

I don't think that's all that, that means.

Parents answer me this, how often do we tell ourselves, "Oh I'm doing this for so and so?" or "I'm doing lunches for the kids or cleaning house for my family." If you truly slow down for a minute and think about it, are you doing everything for yourself or for God? And I'm not just talking about the big things like tithing or sharing the gospel, reading your bible or worshiping or going to church. We all know that those things should be done for the Lord. But let's shift our minds a little farther and think about this.

When you're standing over those dishes, tell yourself I'm doing this for God.

When you're folding that 100th load of laundry, I'm doing this for God.

When you're trekking out to the Garden or picking flowers, I'm doing this for God.

When you make that first cup of coffee, that first meal of the day, say to yourself or even out loud, "I AM DOING THIS FOR GOD!"

Maybe then those mundane things won't seem so much like nothing. Every step you take going forward tell yourself you're doing it for God and see how quickly joy returns to you. No matter what it is. It could be returning the grocery cart at the supermarket; you're doing it for God. Picking a piece of trash up and throwing it away. You are doing it all for God.

If you can keep that focus no matter the task, you can remember to keep God at the center of your whole day.

Even if you feel like it's hard to mean it at first, keep saying it out loud to your flesh until even that lines up with this new mindset. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in those things. You can do this. It just takes faith and faith of a mustard seed can move mountains. (Matthew 17:20)

Friend, we get so lost in 'our' everyday lives, we sometimes put God on a back burner and miss some pretty important time with him. So, do it for God.

Stay Blessed!
