Hey Friends and Welcome back to my little corner of the internet,
Today was a special day, but I didn't feel very special, the day caused me a lot of struggles. Between the late wake up, the hour drive to church, rushing to find family in the crowded pews, a hectic Easter egg hunt, rushing to get a tantrum throwing toddler into a car seat and then rushing again to lunch.
Today was chaos, it wasn't a ride down a dirt road as people laid down palm leaves, excited about my arrival. Today, was the other side... more like the frantic guards wondering who the guy riding in on a donkey was.
Can you imagine the two scenes? The beautiful display of our massiah riding in on a colt, the sounds of the cries from the crowd in worship, and then in the back the guards rushing to get the crowd under control. Shouts ringing out from angry guards who don't understand what their eyes are seeing.
Isn't that how things go in the chaos of everyday life? One side we can find every beautiful piece of everyday life, while on the other hand if you dwell on the chaos, you become angry and stressed. Nothing can compare to that beautiful ride Jesus took on the colt through Jerusalem, but you can find the beauty in the chaos.
We're in such a hurry trying to get somewhere that when we do, we can't enjoy it, because we're still trying to calm down from the rush to get there. We woke up late. My fault. I hit the snooze button for that 5 minutes you think is going to fix the restless night you just had. After I felt like I never had a moment to breathe... to slow down and enjoy the day.
So, tonight I'm taking the time to tell myself tomorrow we'll try it again. Today did not go the way I wanted, the way I needed, but that's okay... because tomorrow is another day. God got me through the day, and everything works for our good. Easter is on its way; that's another day to wake up early take our time to get ready and head off to His house for the celebration of his resurrection.
Friend, just because the day was hectic and nothing went your way, you're not alone. He sees you and He understands. No, everything did not turn out exactly like I wanted, but God used everything that happened today as a teachable moment.
For an example, time management, I didn't use it at all. I should've woken up when the alarm went off. The rushing to get up and go was a struggle. Racing to get through an Easter egg hunt and off to lunch was hectic. Traffic was a mess and the whole day just seemed to tick away. Now, the house is quiet, and I can reflect on the mess of it all.
Tomorrow, I'll try again. I'll do better tomorrow, because that is all we can do. Try again.
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.” – 2 Corinthians 4:16
Your strength is renewed fresh every morning. God sees you through the night and into the next day. Be patient with yourself, Friend. God will never forsake you. Even when He's quiet, He will be there all the day through.
Stay Blessed,
