Hey friends and welcome back to my little corner of the internet,
This week I've been studying the book of Esther. If you don't know the story, Esther was just a girl, born a Jew, who was placed in the king's palace in order to be queen. To save her people from (Haman) horrible man who sought to take the lives of all the Jews. When she became queen, she was chosen to go before the king unsummoned. Something that could have led to her death had the king not lowered his scepter for her.
Esther was called by God for such a time. She stepped out in faith and courage and was able to save the lives of her people. When she made the conscious decision to fully trust God her words will still ring loudly through the centuries. "If I perish, I perish." That’s not reckless courage. That’s surrendered courage.
Sometimes the call on your life doesn’t look like a calling at first. Or anything you've envisioned for yourself.
Sometimes to us it looks like disruption.
Sometimes to us it looks like loss.
Sometimes to us it looks like being placed somewhere you never wanted to be.
But GOD!
The book of Esther shows us that God often positions us long before He reveals the purpose. what an extraordinary honor Esther had to be called by God to be queen, to be chosen to save her people, to be a voice for the masses. To be remembered through the ages. Her earthly gifts were fascinating. Her heavenly gifts... I cannot imagine the celebration that unfolded when she was called up.
Mordecai’s words to Esther still ring true for every believer today:
“Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
It’s the reminder that your placement in this world is not accidental. You are NOT an accident. Your influence is not random. Your season in this life is not meaningless. You are chosen. It may not be a calling like Esther's, chosen to be queen or king over the population, but what God has for you is not random.
You are where you are, right now, because God has woven purpose into your present moment. Even if you feel hidden, unseen by those you love most. Even if you feel small, and invisible to the world. Even if you feel unprepared.
Esther teaches us that God uses the willing. God uses the available. God uses the faithful. God will use you, if you let Him.
Remember this... God sees you. God positions you. God equips you. God can use you in untold ways. So, no matter what your plans look like, don't be afraid to let God lead.
Esther’s story whispers to every woman and every man who feels overwhelmed, overlooked, or underqualified:
You are not accidental. You are not powerless. You are not forgotten. You are placed purposefully, intentionally, divinely... “for such a time as this.”
Stay Blessed,
FASP
