Hey friend and welcome back to my little corner of the internet.

This morning I watched the sun crest over the tops of the tall trees that encase our home. As the light spilled across the yard, I was reminded again of how precious each morning truly is. Scripture tells us, “His mercies are new every morning.” — Lamentations 3:23.

There’s something comforting about that promise, especially at the start of a week like this one.

After making my coffee and settling into the living room, I opened my Bible. The house was quiet, no one stirring but me, and yet my mind was already full of distractions from the coming days. So many things need my attention. So many tasks waiting their turn. And still, somehow, I feel an oddly heavy need for a nap already.

I started a new study this morning, the book of Nahum. The first chapter speaks so much of what God is capable of, how he will exact his vengeance, but it also reminds us that God is slow to anger and great in power (Nahum 1:3). No matter what happens this week remember that God takes care of all of your needs. His might and wonder will go before you and handle the things that need handling. You don't need to worry about the things of this world even though that's easier said than done. God will take care of you and those that hurt you. He will watch over you and keep you under his hedge of protect. You just need to trust that He is always working for your good.

Life here on the homestead is still under full swing. The fence for the goats arriving next week is finally finished. It was a long weekend affair... countless hours, sore muscles, and a lot of determination. But like everything on the homestead, things take time. They grow slowly, steadily, and eventually into something sustainable. The goats will be here soon enough, and our little life here will keep unfolding into what it’s meant to be. 

And speaking of things unfolding… tomorrow is release day for Beyond the Village, my debut novel.
