Chasing Sunshine Above the Clouds- looking beyond your circumstances

Hey Friend and Welcome back to my little corner of the internet,

Today has been a day of reflection for me, so much is taking place behind the scenes with the book and the novel. Some of it is stressful while other things are moving along easily.

In my years as a flight attendant, I saw plenty of weather change. One instance I recall and reflect on often was a mid-morning flight and the weather was dull and dreary. The sky was covered in dark gray clouds, and you couldn't see the sun no matter how hard you tried.

I am a sunshine type of girl. I thrive when the sky is blue and the trees and fields are green. I love the sunshine. This particular day was the farthest from my favorite as it could get.

So, as the plane was loaded, I watched passenger after passenger come through the door complaining about the weather and the turbulence, we were sure to endure. At take off the plane ascended into the dull gray sky. Rain beat against the windows and pounded heavily in my ears. As the nose of the plane cut through the clouds, we leveled off into the scene I had wished for and wanted all day. You see the sun was shining brightly above the storm clouds. The sky was clear all around and as I looked out the window near my jump seat (This was a tiny plane, ERJ145 to be exact, which had a small circle window on the door) I saw a brilliant sky and a blanket of dark clouds beneath me.

Now, when I can't see beyond the dull and dreary circumstances it doesn't mean the sun's not shining on the other side. Patience comes in rare forms. When you're being tested take time for that new perspective, get away if you have to, but renew your mind and perspective. For me that comes in getting out of the house, reading my bible, putting on some worship and letting God take control.

Sometimes we don't mean to, but we tend to think we can control every outcome no matter how small, then everything looks dull and dreary. That's not our calling here. Our calling first and foremost is obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ.

I hope this helps you today and whatever need you need met, God moves in a mighty way!

Stay Blessed!
